Temtem Announces Final Major Updates and Removal of Monetisation

Temtem, the Pokémon-like online game, has recently announced that Patch 1.7 and Patch 1.8 will be the final major updates for the game. This decision was revealed by developer Crema in a lengthy message to the game’s community. Patch 1.7 is set to be released in early June and will include a new season, a new Tamer Pass, balance changes, quality of life updates, and more. On the other hand, Patch 1.8 will bring even more quality of life updates, balance changes, a renovation of the game’s economy, and other additions.

One of the significant changes coming with these final updates is the removal of microtransactions from Patch 1.7. Players will now be able to purchase items that were previously available for purchase with ‘Novas’ using Feathers instead. In Patch 1.8, tamers will have the option to choose from any Tamer Pass from the past and complete its tracks with Feathers. This new approach aims to provide a more balanced and fair system for all players.

Despite the end of major updates, the game’s servers will continue to remain online for the foreseeable future. Crema has reassured players that there are no plans to introduce an offline mode. This commitment to maintaining an online presence indicates the developer’s dedication to the game and its community.

In a parting message to the players, Crema expressed their satisfaction with the final product of Temtem. They acknowledged that while there is still untapped potential in the game, they are proud of what has been achieved so far. The team emphasized the joy and fun that Temtem brings to its players, highlighting the hundreds of hours of content available in the game.

Temtem initially began its journey on Kickstarter in 2018 and made its way to the Nintendo Switch in 2022. Over the years, the development team has introduced 165 Tems and six islands for players to explore. The evolution of Temtem showcases the dedication and hard work put in by the developers to create a rich and engaging gaming experience.
