The project, developed by Reddit user Spiritual_Aside_7859, involves a Raspberry Pi and an Arduino Uno R4 to interface ChatGPT with the hardware of a stuffed koala bear. Equipped with motorized animations and LED lights, this AI stuffed bear can detect objects using an ultrasonic sensor and interact with people in the room. The inclusion of a mini OLED monitor in the koala’s eye socket adds a touch of whimsy, giving the bear a range of facial expressions like “suspicious looks.”
The bear is capable of speaking through ChatGPT’s text responses, which are verbalized using a text-to-speech app. However, there are plans to enhance the project further.
