Ubisoft Plans Multiple Remakes and New Adventures for Assassin’s Creed

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot recently confirmed in an interview that the company is currently working on multiple remakes of classic Assassin’s Creed games. Alongside these remakes, a range of new Assassin’s Creed adventures are also in development, with plans to increase the regularity of game releases. Guillemot emphasized the company’s focus on expanding the Assassin’s Creed universe while staying true to its roots.

Guillemot expressed enthusiasm for the future of Assassin’s Creed, highlighting the upcoming remakes as a way to revisit and modernize older games that still offer rich and immersive worlds. Additionally, he mentioned that players can expect a variety of experiences in the upcoming games, aiming for more regular releases without sacrificing uniqueness and diversity.

While Guillemot did not confirm which specific Assassin’s Creed games are being remade, rumors have suggested that a remake of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is currently in development. This particular remake has reportedly made significant progress since the rumors first surfaced, indicating a potential release in the near future. In addition to Black Flag, there is speculation about remaking other titles in the franchise, such as an updated version of the original Assassin’s Creed or a revamp of Ezio’s story in The Ezio Collection.

Possibilities for the Future

Beyond remakes, Ubisoft has a wealth of content to draw from for future Assassin’s Creed projects. Smaller titles like Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation or the Chronicles spin-offs could potentially make a return, offering fans more diverse gameplay experiences. While the company is currently focused on the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows in November 2024, it is clear that there is a lot more in store for fans in the coming years.

Ubisoft’s commitment to revisiting classic games and expanding the Assassin’s Creed universe demonstrates a dedication to providing fans with fresh and engaging content. By balancing remakes with new adventures and focusing on variety in gameplay experiences, the company is poised to keep the franchise exciting and relevant for both long-time fans and newcomers alike. Stay tuned for more updates on the evolution of the Assassin’s Creed series.
